Abita Beer is served at many New Orleans restaurants and is Abita is one of the nation's top craft brewers. The Abita Brewing Company resumed beer brewing operations on September 6, 2005, just 8 days after the storm. The brewery and its restaurant are located 30 miles north of New Orleans in an area heavily damaged by wind and falling trees. The facilities though, escaped serious damage.
The company's Abita Brewpub is open regular hours serving fried seafood favorites and other casual fare.
The company is brewing its full line of beers and has added Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale to its line-up. A dollar of every Restoration six pack and 100% of the profits from associated merchandise goes to the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation.
