Chef Scott Boswell stands in the expanded kitchen of Stella! while workers rush to finish the repair/upgrade in time for the restaurant's already sold out 3-night opening event: a $250/plate feast orchestrated by Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai.
"If you don't think New Orleans is coming back, be here on March 15th," says the entrepreneur/chef, who was named Chef of the Year in New Orleans magazine's January 2006 issue. Boswell took the restaurant's storm closure as an opportunity to move far off expansion plans up on the calendar.
While work started on Stella! Boswell opened Stanley! just days after the storm — it was one of New Orleans' first new post-Katrina restaurants. It offers daytime dining specializing in Boswell's special brand of classic American comfort food.
